The Longines Spirit is, quite simply, the pilot’s watch of 2020. It promises IWC-beating design and construction and at a much more approachable price. Let’s see just how Longines have created such a wonder.
Longines has created a truly superb reputation for itself over the last few years. Now reaching a comparable level of quality to the likes of Omega, Longines has been known for skilfully recreating the hits from its long and celebrated history. Even so, their modern watches haven’t received such praise and have, at times, seemed somewhat bland.
With the new Longines Spirit, however, all is changed. Approaching the pilot’s watch market, this watch uses Longines’ truly enormous financial might to offer case and dial finishing entirely unprecedented for this price. To top it off is a movement derived from the ETA 2892 but in a 64-hour, chronometer rated variant with a silicon hairspring.
I think that this is, quite simply, the pilot’s watch of 2020. Watch our review to find out why.
